ROUTE 1

The route begins 4,5 km from the centre of Fužine, 200 m from Vrelo ranch when heading towards Rijeka. More precisely, it begins on the point where a dirt road separates itself from the asphalt road and turns left on a macadam towards Tuhobić. It goes through the forest for 6 km all the way to the main road D3 (Rijeka-Zagreb). We recommend taking the same road back to Fužine, considering the dense traffic on D3. However, if you decide to take the main road back, you have to take a right turn and ride along D3 for 1,5 km, then turn onto ŽC5062 in Fužine direction (the town is 7 km away). The length of this route is 12 km (+ 4,5 km distance from Fužine to Vrelo through route 3, taking a left turn onto ŽC5062 and riding for 1 km on asphalt to reach the ranch). ROUTE 2

The route begins in Benkovac Fužinski, and it follows the hiking trail towards the top of Tuhobić. It combines a forest/walking path and macadam, and it is quite demanding due to occasional fallen trees and holes in the ground. The route leads across Tuhobić slopes towards Gornje Jelenje. Just before reaching the D3 main road (Rijeka - Zagreb), it turns right onto the macadam road and continues downhill for 5 km towards a stream and Lake Lepenica. After reaching a crossroad, the route turns right, passes beneath highway A6 and continues uphill towards Benkovac Fužinski. The length of the route is 15 km, it is moderately to very difficult and demands excellent riding skills and physical capabilities. Bicycle type: MTB

ROUTE 3

Around Lake Bajer - the route begins and ends in the centre of Fužine. It goes around Lake Bajer, across the dam on Lake Lepenica, leads through Vrelo village and reaches Vrelo Cave. The route returns to Fužine, taking the opposite shore of Lake Bajer back to the town centre. The length of the route is 7 km. Bicycle type: MTB, trekking The easiest route in Fužine, convenient for easy recreational rides and for families with children. A part of the route consists of an asphalt road. ROUTE 4

The route starts in Fužine town centre. It goes along the left coast of Lake Bajer up to Lake Lepenica and Vrelo village, where it connects to regional road ŽC5062 towards Fužine. It turns right and, after 200 m (right before the cave) turns left onto the macadam. After 300 m it turns left once again and takes the forest road above ŽC5062 for 3 kilometres. Afterwards, it returns to ŽC5602, turns left and reaches a crossroad after 600 m, where it turns onto the forest road towards Tuhobić. The route passes beneath the highway A6 and goes uphill towards Bekovac Fužinski. By reaching the regional road ŽC5068 (towards Zlobin), the path goes over the road and through the quarry. Then it goes downhill along a forest road towards Lič, passes by ‘Šumska bajka’ / Forest Fairy Tale excursion site and comes out onto the asphalt road in Banovina. Here you can also turn left towards Fužine (2,5 km away) and take the asphalt road, which suits those with less physical capabilities and the ones that have grown tired. If you take the right turn, you need to follow the signs for Novi Vinodolski and turn left onto Pirovište Street after 500 m. You will pass by a business area and an animal shelter and reach Fužine-Lič road, where you turn right towards the centre of Fužine (2,5 km away). The length of the route is 23 km, mostly macadam. ROUTE 5

The route begins in the centre of Fužine, g oes along the left coast of Lake Bajer and reaches Lake Lepenica and Vrelo. There it connects to regional road ŽC5602 and turns right towards Vrelo Cave. There it connects to regional road ŽC5602 and turns right towards Vrelo Cave. Just before the cave, the route turns left and goes uphill towards Tović. It continues for 7,3 km, and afterwards turns right towards the quarry in Vrata, from where you may take the macadam road and return to Fužine (you will pass beneath the Preradovićev peak, next to A6 highway and through Vrata tunnel). You may also take the asphalt road next to the Sports and Recreational Centre Gmajna (ŠRC Gmajna), through Vrata back to Fužine. In this case you will take the macadam road to Čoka, go along the Lake Bajer coast until you reach the centre of Fužine or take the asphalt road ŽC5068. The length of the main route is 12 km. The route is light to moderately difficult, mostly when you take the macadam road. Type of bicycle: MTB, trekking POI: Lake Bajer, Lake Lepenica, Vrelo Cave

ROUTE 5A

For the first 7,3 km it follows the route 5: The route begins in the centre of Fužine, leads along the left coast of Lake Bajer and reaches Lake Lepenica and Vrelo. There it connects to regional road ŽC5602 and turns right towards Vrelo Cave. . Just before the cave, the route turns left and goes uphill towards Tović. It continues for 7,3 km, and afterwards turns left towards Cowboy village of Roswell (2,7 km away). Once in Roswell, you may return to Fužine the same way you came (shorter option) or take the Rijeka-Zagreb main road and go back towards Fužine. This part also has another gem - about 0,5 km after you have reached the main road, there is a downhill connection onto the route 4. Extremely steep, difficult and demanding, for highly experienced cyclists only! SThe route is almost entirely macadam, with a difficult uphill path just before Vrelo Cave (continues for about 500 m). Afterwards the terrain is mostly very good (forest road) and appropriate for bicycle rides, despite the fact it is mostly in light ascent. The length of the route is 24 km (longer version) or 20 km (shorter version), light to moderately demanding. ROUTE 6

Starts in the centre of Fužine, takes the road towards Lič. After reaching the ‘Drvenjače’ factory, it continues for 200 m, then turns right and follows the gas pipeline until it reaches the railway. From there it goes left and takes the forest road next to ‘Šumska bajka’ / Forest Fairy Tale excursion site. It steps onto the asphalt road in Banovina, goes through Pirovište towards the business area, after which it turns right and goes uphill towards Lake Potkoš. Once there, it continues on the lake dam, then follows the asphalt road for 2 km. Once it reaches the animal shelter, it turns right and leads back to the starting point (Fužine). Keep in mind that the gas pipeline section might be muddy after heavy rainfall, and the section towards Lake Potkoš must be further cleared of branches and similar obstacles. The route is sometimes grassy, partly macadam, and mostly asphalt. It is not very demanding (70 m of total elevation gain). The length is 9 km. Type of bicycle: MTB, trekking POI: ‘Šumska bajka’ excursion site, suitable for younger children.

ROUTE 7

The route begins in Lič, in front of the elementary school building, which also holds the Ethnographic collection. The route goes uphill towards St George’s Church, passes through the holiday residences and under the railway. Once there, it can turn right (shorter option) or go straight (4 km longer - route 7a) and take the forest road to Benkovac Fužinski. Once it reaches ŽC5608 in Benkovac, the route turns right, then after 1 km takes another right turn, and goes through the quarry back towards Lič, passing by ‘Šumska bajka’ excursion site. The terrain is mostly macadam with several steep uphill sections, so the route is meant for those who are in great physical shape. The route can also begin in Benkovac Fužinski, at the crossroad that leads towards the quarry. You can reach this point by following the asphalt road ŽC5608 from Fužine or take the bicycle route 4 from Tuhobić. The length of the route 7 is 13 km, and route 7a is 17 km long. ROUTE 7A

The route mostly follows route 7, but it is 4km longer. The route begins in Lič, in front of the elementary school building, which also holds the Ethnographic collection. The route ascends towards St George’s Church, passes through the holiday residences and below the railway. From there it continues straight, taking the forest road towards Benkovac Fužinski. By exiting on the ŽC5608 road in Benkovac, it turns right and continues for 1 km, after which it turns right again and goes back towards Lič through the quarry, passing by ‘Šumska bajka’ excursion site. The terrain is mostly macadam with several steep uphill sections, so it is recommended to those who are in great physical shape. The route can also begin in Benkovac Fužinski, from the crossroad that leads towards the quarry. You can reach this point by following the asphalt road ŽC5608 from Fužine or take the bicycle route 4 from Tuhobić. The length of the route is 18 km. ROUTE 8

The route begins in the centre of Fužine, takes the left coast of Lake Bajer to Lake Lepenica and Vrelo village, where it merges with ŽC5602 regional road and turns right towards Vrelo Cave. Just before the cave, it turns left and continues uphill towards Tović, and after 7,3 km turns right towards Vrata quarry. Once it reaches ‘Alu-Ben’, it turns left onto the asphalt, passes next to Sports and Recreational Centre ‘ŠRC Gmajna’ and reaches the road that leads from Fužine to Mrkopalj. At the crossroad it turns left onto this road and reaches Belo Selo, where it turns right after the railway overpass (in front of the ‘Borovnica’ family farm). It continues for 3 km back towards Vrata. At the crossroad (close to the railway crossing), the route turns left onto the asphalt road. From there on, it continues uphill for 2,5 km towards Lipovača. Once it reaches the next crossroad (merges with route 9), the route leads right and after 400 m turns onto a macadam road. From there on, it descends towards Ličko Polje, from where it returns to its starting point in Fužine. The length of the route is 27 km, 500 m of elevation gain, moderately difficult. The downhill section towards Ličko Polje requires a certain level of experience and precision. ROUTE 9

The route begins in Vrata village, which you can reach from Fužine (2,5 km away). Follow the right coast of Čok peninsula, then turn right onto the macadam road and ride uphill towards Vrata. Upon reaching the asphalt road, the route turns left and continues for 500 m until it reaches the crossroad which leads towards ‘Entertainment and Paintball Centre Vrata’ across the railway, and continues uphill for 2,5 km. At the crossroad, it turns left into the forest and leads to Donja Slavica village, from where it returns to Fužine via ŽC5608. The route turns left just before it passes by Borovnica family farm (Educational Mountain Garden), just before the railway overpass. From there it goes along the railway tracks for 3 km until it reaches Vrata. In Vrata it turns right across the railway and merges with an asphalt road that goes left towards Fužine. The length of the route is 13 km, the terrain is mostly macadam with total elevation gain 480 m, light to moderately demanding. ROUTE 10

The route begins in the centre of Lič (4 km from Fužine), next to the school. It heads towards Ličko Polje (Potkobiljak). The paths are marked all over the meadows and roads, as well as the macadam roads intertwined with Ličko Polje, which partly cross paths with local asphalt roads. Being mostly flat with no elevation gain, these paths are easy and suitable for family bicycle rides - the children may even see a cow in Ličko Polje, for the first time in their lives! The route passes by local family farms in Fužine and Lič (Zanoškar, Kovačević, Plesničar, Starčević), across Vicićev Bridge, and next to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snow. The paths vary in length, can be combined and upgraded. Length of route 10 is 7 km. Length of route 11 is 9 km. ROUTE 11

The route begins in the centre of Lič (4 km from Fužine), next to the school. It heads towards Ličko Polje (Potkobiljak). The paths are marked all over the meadows and roads, as well as the macadam roads intertwined with Ličko Polje, which partly cross with local asphalt roads. Being mostly flat with no elevation gain, these paths are easy and suitable for family bicycle rides - the children may even see a cow in Ličko Polje, for the first time ever! The route passes by local family farms in Fužine and Lič (Zanoškar, Kovačević, Plesničar, Starčević), across Vicićev Bridge, and next to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snow. ROUTE F30

F30 is an acronym that stands for Fužine 30 kilometres, even though the route itself is longer. It is a combination of several shorter paths going around the hilltops of mountains that surround Fužine and Lič. The route begins near Vrelo Cave. It is reachable from the centre of Fužine, taking the left coast of Lake Bajer (route 3) towards Lepenica and Vrelo village. From there on, turn left following ŽC5602 (route 5). After passing the quarry in Vrata, the route follows the highway and crosses it over Vrata tunnel, where it reaches the road that leads from Vrata to Fužine. The route turns left (following the path of route 8) and turns right after 500 m. There it passes over a railway track and continues uphill towards Lipovača. After 2,8km of ascent, it crosses the railway track and descends into Ličko Polje. In the centre of Lič it once again ascends, this time towards St George’s Church, from where it continues through the forest until it reaches Benkovac Fužinski (path of route 7 or 7a). Upon reaching Benkovac, the route follows Tuhobić downhill towards Lepenica (following the path of route 4) and continues on the forest road towards ŽC5602 (Rijeka - Fužine direction). Once it crosses an asphalt road, the route turns left and follows ŽC5602 for 650 m, then turns uphill on a macadam road. After 3 km it merges with route 5 after taking a right turn, and from there on descends for 200 m. When it reaches Vrelo Cave, it merges with ŽC5602, from where it takes a left turn and returns to Fužine town centre, following the route 3. The length of the route is 41 km, mostly macadam terrain. Total elevation gain is 1080 m, medium demanding and meant for cyclists that ride regularly and are in good physical shape - the route holds several demanding ascents and descents. ROUTE F60

For those that know, can and will do it! Cyclists call this route epic for a reason - over 60 km of macadam, elevations and wild descents across the slopes of Bitoraj, Viševica, Kobiljak and Tuhobić, whose peaks stand above Fužine and Lič. The route follows its younger sibling - F30, and then raises its head just before Lipovača, turns left and runs towards Bitoraj and Viševica, in the hopes of catching the sight of the sea on some mountain top. Then it returns to the centre of Lič and once again climbs up to Benkovac Fužinski, goes down towards Lepenica and returns to the peaceful Lake Bajer in Fužine. The length of the route is 67 km, with total elevation gain of 1,4 km. 99% of this route is macadam, making it difficult and demanding.
